Join our team in 2025 -Evolution Early Learning is seeking a dedicated, passionate and committed HEAD CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGER for our early learning centre in Mooloolaba whose values and beliefs align strongly with the philosophy and mission of Evolution Early Learning.

The position is for an immediate start.

Responsibilities of the role include –

• Preparation of daily meals (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) for all children Children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years along with breakfast and late snacks as required.
• Meet all individual food requirements of specific children where required including children with allergies and dietary requirements
• Proven ability to work with a wide variety of cuisines.
• Providing restaurant-quality presentation is a MUST
• Preparation of nutritious meals for events/functions we will celebrate throughout the year.
• Adhering to the nutrition policy and guidelines set by the centre.
• Working in accordance with the food safety regulations for safe and clean handling of food products.
• Be highly organised and use good time-management skills.
• Adhering to food costs and kitchen budgets set out.
• Ensuring a safe clean kitchen environment at all times
• Facilitating our take-home meal and special occasion cake service
• Being in a childcare environment we require a reliable individual to take the role.
• Ability to lead a team and work positively in a small team environment.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE IS PREFERRED.

Experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods for children.

A passion for sustainability and urban farming is an asset with our on-site food gardens

Compulsory Selection Criteria –

1. Commercial Cookery certificate
2. Current Blue Card
3. Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
4. Previous experience cooking for young children is an asset to the position.

Hours –

• Full time 5 days
• Approx. 38-40hrs per week
• Approx. Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm
• No split shifts
• No evening shifts or weekend work.
