Assistant Motel Manager
We are seeking a positive, motivated, and enthusiastic person with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude to join our team as an Assistant Motel Manager. This is a live-in position at our 25-room, 4-star motel located on Brisbane’s southside. We cater to both corporate and leisure markets and maintain a high occupancy rate. Please note that we do not serve meals at the motel, and linen services are outsourced.
The commencement date is flexible, anytime between March and April 2025. The hours for this role are negotiable ranging between 30 and 45 hours per week, with the salary being pro-rata.
Responsibilities:
- Handling guest enquiries, bookings and payments
- Performing administration duties, including MYOB and financial reporting
- Ensuring the smooth daily operations of the motel
- Managing inventory and supplies, ensuring that all necessary supplies are stocked and available for both guests and staff
- Implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff
- Managing guest feedback, responding to guest feedback to continuously improve the guest experience
- Interacting with and supporting a small, reliable team of casual housekeeping staff
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- A passion for customer service
- Well presented with excellent communication skills
- Experience with the GuestPoint booking system is an advantage but not essential
- Experience with MYOB or similar accounting system
- Attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
- Accurate administration skills with a commitment to quality systems and procedures
- At least 2 years’ experience in an administration or similar role
The successful applicant will be required to live onsite in a spacious, air-conditioned, well presented and very comfortable 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment located upstairs from reception. The accommodation is offered at $460 per week, including electricity, gas, water, and internet.
We offer a generous package, plus a quarterly bonus upon achieving KPIs. Salary and terms of employment will be discussed with the successful applicant. Previous experience in motel management or a similar front office position is desirable. Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
