• Base salary range: Level C, $139,000 – $159,893 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School is the largest and longest established medical school in Western Australia. It delivers a 4-year post-graduate MD course to local, national and international students.

Together with our key partner, the University of Arizona (UA), UWA Medical School is developing an innovative medical degree (Global MD) to run alongside its existing world-class offerings. Students undertaking the Global MD will complete 2 years of study in Western Australia and a further 2 years in Arizona.

As the first transnational medical degree to be offered in Western Australia (WA), UWA will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative medical education opportunities on a global scale.

About the opportunity

• You will be an experienced medical practitioner with clinical and medical education experience in Primary Care/General Practice. Together with the Global MD leadership team, this role will be responsible for curriculum development and accreditation for the Global MD with the target of producing outstanding medical graduates into areas of workforce need.
• Responsible for delivering world-class teaching at Postgraduate level, your teaching will be modern, innovative and inspiring. Your role will include the creation of digital and in-person resources, unit coordination, student assessment and delivery of world-class clinical education.
• You will work collaboratively with Global MD teams at UWA and UA to conduct research and ensure long term program success.

About you

• Expertise in provision of high-quality Primary healthcare, preventative medicine and/or General Practice

• Experience with the provision of medical care in under-resourced, international or marginalised communities
• Demonstrated experience in medical student support from application to graduation
• Demonstrated experience with curriculum development, world-class teaching and assessment of medical students/junior doctors

• A strong track record in research excellence at a national level
