About the role

Australian Home Inspection Services is seeking a talented and experienced Building and Pest Inspector to join our team in Brisbane and Gold Coast region on a contract basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive building and pest inspections for our residential and commercial clients, ensuring they receive accurate and detailed assessments of the properties they are considering. What you'll be doing

• Carry out detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties, including buildings, structures, and surrounding areas
• Assess and identify any structural issues, pest infestations, or other concerns that may impact the property
• Perform building stage inspections on new residential builds
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, detailing your findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner. The company provides a complete reporting system and all necessary training.
• Communicate inspection results effectively to clients, answering any questions they may have.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all inspections conducted
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, building standards, and best practices

What we're looking for

• Qualifications and experience as a Building and Pest Inspector, with a preference for candidates holding a Completed Residential Building Inspection license and a Termite Management Contractor license. You must hold at least a current Builder Low Rise, Medium Rise, or Open Licence and must have a Termite Management Contractor Licence.
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction, materials, and common pest infestations
• Ability to accurately identify and assess a wide range of structural, safety, and pest-related issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to clients
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections and report writing
• A valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various job sites
