The Town of Claremont is proud of its Conservation Category Wetland and a Bush Forever Site, Lake Claremont, which is home to hundreds of recorded species of birds and flora and fauna. The Town has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Land Care Officer to further guide, enhance, and manage preservation activities in the area's bushland and wetland reserves. Key duties of the position include:

  • Provide technical advice, research, and reports in relation to the Town's bushland/wetlands.
  • Undertaking research in relation to bushlands and wetlands.
  • Bushland and wetland maintenance including planting and seed collection.
  • Working closely and supporting the Friends of Lake Claremont, a volunteer group.
  • Liaising with stakeholders (residents, contractors, government and external agencies).
  • Working with Parks team Field Officers on projects.
  • Undertake contractor checks and reporting.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma of Conservation and Land Management (or similar qualification) and/or practical experience in bush care management. They will be a passionate about conservation and will have a working knowledge of the native flora and fauna of the Swan Coastal Plain.
