About VHBA

The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial and Legal for the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), and working closely with Directors, Commercial for other programs, the Director, Commercial provides executive leadership, commercial and financial advice, and support to a program of works within VHBA's multibillion-dollar portfolio of projects. The role is responsible for developing and guiding a high performing team of commercial professionals who provide commercial advice and support in relation to program-wide commercial matters.

Key aspects of this role are:

• Leadership of a commercial function across a range of construction settings and contract models.

• Lead processes and add expertise and knowledge to improve VHBA project outcomes.

• Develop key relationships and influence project outcomes.

We are looking for

• Extensive specialist experience providing advice and management on commercial, strategic, transaction, procurement, insurance, contract and claims management matters.
• Practical expertise in a range of a procurement models including whole of life, traditional and collaborative contracting models.
• Demonstrated experience providing strategic advice to senior decision makers.
