About Us

We are a medium sized Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that delivers an holistic range of support services to people living in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Through service centres located in Broome, Derby, and Kununurra, our focus is on supporting people in the areas of housing and homelessness, family support services , reintegration services and accommodation and emergency relief services. Each year we engage with over 3000 people through a local staff group, who represent many of the language groups connected to country, right across the Kimberley region.

About the Opportunity

Centacare Kimberley is looking for a Reintegration Support Worker based in Broome, WA.

In this vital role, you will provide case-managed reintegration support to individuals leaving correctional facilities, helping them successfully transition back into their communities. You will work within a person-centered framework to connect clients with essential social services, housing, employment, and education opportunities.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing structured case management and reintegration support
  • Conducting prison visitations on a weekly or fortnightly basis
  • Coordinating transport and logistical support for released individuals
  • Liaising with government agencies and service providers to support clients
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and data entry in alignment with service guidelines
  • Providing culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal clients
  • Participating in community engagement and advocacy efforts
About You

To qualify, you will need the ability to obtain Security Clearance through the Department of Justice. Prior experience in case management, rehabilitation services, or social support is also considered essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly regarded:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Experience in correctional facilities, social work, or reintegration services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Capacity to manage complex cases and provide trauma-informed support
  • A commitment to long-term community engagement and client support

Essential requirements:

  • Current National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
  • Valid WA "C" Class Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to travel for client support and community engagement
