At Meli, we’re looking for a talented and driven Communications Officer to help amplify our impact through strategic communication and storytelling. About the Role
As a Communications Officer, you will:
- Develop high-quality communications, ensuring alignment with Meli’s values for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with service delivery staff to help clients share their stories in a trauma-informed way.
- Draft media releases and respond to media inquiries with clear, effective communication.
- Create and publish content across various platforms, including newsletters, social media, and executive communications.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote Meli’s services and community partnerships.
Position Details
- Fixed term position until 30 June 2025
- 0.6 FTE working 22.8 hours per week
- $97,614 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent work experience.
- Exceptional writing skills with a passion for storytelling, demonstrated through the development of compelling content for diverse audiences, including media releases, internal corporate communications, reports, and social media posts.
- Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and ability to craft clear, engaging narratives that align with organisational values and messaging.
- Experience in content production, including the ability to research, structure, and refine complex information into accessible and impactful communications.
- Ability to tailor messaging for different formats, ensuring consistency across corporate materials, publications, and external communications.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to source and develop meaningful stories that amplify Meli’s impact in the community.
