Job Description
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will preferably have a background in construction and have completed their studies at RMIT or Deakin University. As a Contract Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of each project and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Administer and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and deadlines.
- Document Control: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
- Cost Control: Assist in tracking project costs and budgets, and provide regular cost reports to project stakeholders.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, including bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
- Variation Management: Process variations and change orders, documenting all changes and ensuring proper approvals.
- Claims and Dispute Resolution: Assist in managing and resolving contract-related claims and disputes in collaboration with the project team.
- Client Communication: Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders through effective communication and timely reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure that all contractual and legal requirements are met, including permits, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to contracts and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Closeout: Assist in the contract closeout process, including final inspections, documentation, and project handover.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field (Preferably from RMIT or Deakin University).
- Previous experience in contract administration within the construction industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including legal and financial aspects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
