Maroondah City Council is seeking a talented and passionate Process Improvement Specialist to join the Cyber and Technology Team’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Implementation Project.
Reporting to the ERP Implementation Project Manager, the Process Improvement Specialist will oversee all activities related to Process Improvement related to Council’s ERP Project.
The Process Improvement Specialist will work closely with the ERP Project team, various stakeholders within Council, as well as implementation vendors to ensure successful delivery of key project activities.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive and oversee continuous improvement projects and initiatives across various service areas, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, efficiency gains, and cost reductions.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies to map processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements that enhance productivity and reduce operational waste.
- Work closely with Service Area Managers, key subject matter experts, project managers, and senior leadership to identify improvement opportunities and ensure successful implementation of CI strategies.
- Prepare and deliver insightful reports, recommendations, and progress updates to executive leadership. Create high-quality presentation decks and reports with minimal administrative support.
- Drive the integration of AI and technology into process optimisation efforts, helping Council embrace automation and modern efficiency tools.
- Introduce and establish process improvement frameworks in a relatively immature process environment, ensuring consistent and sustainable outcomes.
- Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and problem-solving across Council.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree or better in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in continuous improvement, or quality management, preferably within the local governments or similar highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience performing business analysis tasks such as process mapping, requirements gathering, report writing and process improvement.
- Demonstrated proficiency creating and publishing reports, data visualisations, and dashboards for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts and solution options in simple terms to stakeholders and decision makers.
- Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and recommend changes that align with the best practises.
- Substantial experience working IT related projects in a complex multitier environment, including government.
