About the role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our thriving IGA supermarket in Youngtown, Launceston. As the Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our busy store, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving the continued success of our business. This is a full-time salaried position.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Overseeing store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, staff scheduling & end of day operations
- Identifying and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and grow sales
- Providing coaching and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
- Actively contributing to the development and execution of the store's strategic plan
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably within the grocery or supermarket industry
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results
- Proficient in inventory management and sales reporting
- Excellent customer service orientation and a passion for creating a positive shopping experience
- Familiarity with retail technology and systems, including point-of-sale and inventory management software
