The Tumut and District Neighbourhood Centre (TDNC) is a registered charity, not-for-profit, community-based organisation offering a range of services accessible to all people of the Snowy Valley’s region. The TDNC endeavours to assist and support the most vulnerable members of our community through the provision of a vibrant, welcoming community hub where individuals can receive direct support during times of crisis or adversity.

The Role

The centre coordinator must bring a positive, values driven outlook to their role, offering the opportunity to use your professional skills and expertise to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people in the community.

You will ensure appropriate and professional emergency relief social services are delivered to individuals and families in the community and create a welcoming environment that facilitates further connection towards community and achieving TDNC’s Mission.

Key Responsibilities

• The coordinator must develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisation including knowledge of the TDNC’s constitution, aims and objectives, service policies and procedures.
• The coordinator is expected to manage all aspects of the centre and further develop operational procedures and utilise resources appropriately.
• The coordinator will be required to be linked with the Australian Taxation Office to manage and operate the TDNC Incorporation as a Registered Charity.
• An understanding of the relevant legislation and legal requirements.
• A requirement to implement Duty of Care, when working with employees, volunteers, clients, and the public.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the services and referral processes of other agencies so that appropriate referrals for clients can be accurately made.
• Familiarisation of the requirements and agreements of all funding bodies is essential.
