Network Architect
A Network Architect is required by a NSW Government Organisation in Parramatta/Sydney Olympic Park (hybrid WFH) on an initial 12 month assignment on a day rate of $1100. This role will be focused on:
- Secure Internet Gateway
- Cross Domain Gateway
- Data Centre Networking
- Software Defined Networking; and
- Internet Connectivity, and Network Security.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide expert network design and implementation services in accordance with enterprise architectural and infrastructure engineering standards, templates, and policies
- Ensure proper implementation and optimisation of Network devices across the organisation
- Drive for continuous improvement by optimising and automating technical and non-technical processes
- Provide expert input to resolving critical incidents and problems within the organisation’s network
- Contribute to the development of policies and strategies to ensure all the performance measures of network infrastructure meet the needs of the business
- Actively promote adherence to global Technology processes and IT industry standards; and
- Perform other tasks as directed by the CEA and major projects for uplifting the organisation’s TIIL capability and competency.
Selection criteria:
- Minimum five years’ experience in network architecture and design
- Experience in designing large, complex and secure IT networks in large complex organisations
- Strong understanding of network technologies, protocols, and industry trends (SDWAN, TCP/IP, BGP, VPN, IPSec, Routing, Switching, traditional WAN technologies)
- Experience in network security technologies (Palo Alto, CheckPoint firewall, Prisma Access, IPS, third-party and users remote access VPN, Forward/Reverse proxy etc.)
- Experience with cloud networking resources (AWS Transit Gateway, VPC/VNET, Azure vWAN, Load
- Balancers, NAT Gateways, IPSec, Web Application Firewall and Gateway etc.)
- Strong knowledge of architectural concepts and principles
- Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly experienced user of MS Project and MS Office; and
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
