About the role
Are you a skilled Biomedical Engineer with a passion for ensuring medical equipment runs smoothly and safely? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team at South West Healthcare. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and inspecting cutting-edge medical equipment, and providing advice and support with the purchase and installation of new equipment. This role directly supports the healthcare delivery at South West Healthcare and across the South West region at our partner hospitals. Your expertise will help ensure the reliability and safety of the devices that play a crucial role in patient care.
Position overview
- Permanent, Full Time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO
- Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Biomedical Engineer Class 2
- Salary Range: $84,632 - $89,146 per annum (pro rata) + superannuation
What you bring
- A degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or related fields.
- Training from medical device manufacturers (e.g., Philips, GE, Draeger).
- Strong understanding of electronics and electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Windows OS, MS Office).
- A current Australian Driver's license.
- A willingness to attend relevant training.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of standards such as AS/NZS 3551, AS/NZS 3003, IEC 60601.
- At least 5 years of experience in biomedical engineering and medical technology management.
Desirable Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and workshop skills
- Experience in contract management, computer networking, and computerised maintenance management systems
- Maintenance of high reliability systems.
