About You

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Environmental Planner to join our team. About the position

The Environmental Planner will be responsible for the formulation, review and maintenance of environmental strategies, policies and related supporting documentation in addition to providing input into and assessment of development applications and related services from an environmental perspective. The role is required to achieve Council’s planning and environmental objectives, to deliver a vibrant, inclusive and liveable region.

  • This is a permanent full-time position based in the heart of Toowoomba’s CBD.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $96,462.87 - $102,899.84 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position

Qualification(s), training and experience, specific to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Planning or Environmental Science, or a qualification in a related field from a recognised University coupled with significant relevant experience in Environmental Planning and Policy Development.
  • Substantial relevant experience in environmental planning and policy development.
  • Ecological and botanical experience is desirable.
  • Local government experience is desirable.
  • Membership of a relevant professional association, or eligibility for membership is desirable.
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
