This is an exciting opportunity to join a company which is a disruptive player in its market and in its first stage of evolution; the business has very ambitious growth plans. The role will report to the CFO with local oversight by the COO who needs an experienced Financial Accountant to look after the day to day running of the finance function in an ever-developing environment with focusing on day to day finance operations and the production of accurate and timely management information. The role will be pivotal in further developing process and products to support the finance function as the business continues to grow and innovates in the market and internationally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable (AP) ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
• Oversee cashflow management and reporting
• Oversee staff expense claims, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Production of month-end and year-end financial reporting, including general ledger reconciliations and related journals (prepayments, accruals and deferred revenue)
• Assist with production of relevant board reports
• Support GST/BAS lodgement, payroll tax, and compliance reporting.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations.
• Run payroll processing, responding to payroll-related queries.
• Liaison with external advisors to comply with tax and other requirements
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Assist with budgeting process and variance reporting
• Ad hoc duties which often arise

Role Requirements:

• Qualified accountant with finance ops and management accounts preparation experience
• Comfortable with change management and a fast paced environment
• System/data savvy and proficient in accounting software (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax) and Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Pivots, Tables)
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
• A proactive, driven attitude with a keen eye for adding value.
• Ability to work well under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
• Self-starter and ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Inquisitive with desire to learn in a complex environment
• Experience of working in international business spanning multiple time zones and cultures
• Experience in a business with significant deferred revenue and the associated accounting and revenue recognition
