Who you are

Are you passionate about event management and hospitality? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where you can make a positive impact? UniSQ Brisbane is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Events and Operations Support Assistant to join our team!

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting a positive public image of the University by assisting in the delivery of various functions and events. In doing so, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Assist the Operations Coordinator in managing attendance at University functions and events.
  • Administer event equipment bookings and maintain equipment for University events.
  • Support the delivery of in-person events and activities, including orientation and transition events.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the University to ensure seamless event execution, including catering and setup.
  • Produce high-quality digital communications and events using systems like CRM, Events Air, and Raiser’s Edge.
  • Liaise with external event organisers to ensure compliance with University requirements and negotiate competitive rates.
  • Ensure timely and friendly service, food safety, and health standards for visitors.
  • Manage internal and external catering orders and maintain a comprehensive database of stakeholders and service providers.
  • Provide general professional and administrative support, including drafting and editing invitations, proposals, and contracts.

What will help you succeed

Together with your qualification in event management (or equivalent experience), your success in this position will be underpinned by:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in event management processes within a service industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with senior executives and communicate effectively with a wide range of clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact positively with colleagues.
  • Capable of undertaking manual tasks, including setting up resources and equipment for events.
  • A current unrestricted driver’s license.

Salary: Total Remuneration range of $83,812 to $89,032 pa (includes salary range of $70,817 to $75,228 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17%, and annual leave loading)
