We are seeking a capable Accountant to join a well-established private school in Perth's Northern suburbs, on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will join a team of four, handling all the high-level accounting for the school, reporting directly to the Business Manager.

Established in the 1950s, the school sits on beautiful grounds and provides a very high level of education to its circa 400 students.

Description

• Permanent, part-time position (3-4 days a week)
• Streamlining of financial systems and processes
• Managing the day to day accounting transactions
• Reconciling all accounts
• Handling end of month/year processing including inter-company journals, accruals and GL reconciliations
• Preparation and lodgement of monthly or quarterly business activity statements (BAS)
• Liaising with the external Chartered Accounting firm and Audit for yearly accounts and tax issues
• Monthly financial reporting

Profile

• An all-rounder accountant from either a school or commercial SME background
• Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
• Strong level of accuracy & attention to detail
• Ability to organise and prioritise daily duties
• Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting software packages (TASS experience preferred but not essential)
• Bachelor of Business Degree / Diploma in Accounting
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards
