About the role

Join our dedicated team as a Funeral Directors Assistant at a long established Full Funeral Service,Belconnen ACT. This full-time role is essential in supporting our Funeral Directors in providing compassionate and professional end-of-life services to the local community.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Funeral Directors in arranging and coordinating all aspects of funeral services
• Liaise with families to understand their needs and preferences for the funeral
• Prepare the funeral venue and ensure all necessary equipment and materials are in place
• Provide support and assistance to mourners during the funeral service
• Ensure all administrative tasks related to the funeral are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain the funeral home and vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Assist with the transportation of the deceased and related duties as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably within the funeral industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathise and provide compassionate support to grieving families
• Excellent organisational and time management skills to coordinate all aspects of a funeral service
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emotionally sensitive situations
• A respectful, professional and discreet approach to handling the deceased and dealing with bereaved families
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our clients
