Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) is the incorporated body representing the Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi, Mardudhunera, Yaburara and Wong-Goo-Tt-Oo peoples, as Traditional Owners and Custodians of Murujuga.

The Role
As the Administration Officer for Ranger Services, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the team responsible for co-managing the Murujuga National Park, delivering Rock Art Tours and Cultural Awareness Training, and coordinating participants for monitoring and surveys. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth coordination of Ranger activities, operations, training, and reporting, while also liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Through your efforts, you will contribute to the preservation and protection of Murujuga land and sea country.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Develop and implement systems to improve administrative efficiency and communication related to monitoring and surveying.
- Act as the primary liaison between monitors and surveyors on country.
- Liaise directly with monitoring proponents to ensure the smooth delivery of monitoring services.
- Oversee the coordination and deployment of MAC members for monitoring and surveying operations.
- Manage logistical arrangements for monitoring and surveying activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of MAC member participation in monitoring and surveying tasks.
- Maintain records including ranger training, corporate card expenditure, monitor & survey call logs, and Cultural Awareness Training attendees.
Ranger Team Coordination
- Assist in onboarding new ranger staff, including PPE requirements and uniforms.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings for ranger management.
- Assist in organising Elders Day events alongside senior managers.
- Organise and manage ranger calendars, assisting senior managers in scheduling tasks.
- Book training renewals and refreshers as required.
- Update the Human Resources Manager on any leave changes.
- Book vehicles for maintenance and services.
- Arrange accommodation for the ranger team when required.
- Manage stock control of ranger PPE and supplies.
- Arrange catering orders for meetings and events.
- Upload documents to SharePoint and ensure data is kept up to date.
- Ensure weekly timesheets are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Prepare weekly schedules and task lists for rangers, ensuring management is informed.
- Assist rangers with enrolments and general administrative duties.
- Maintain accurate land and sea ranger availability on MAC’s online booking systems.
- Update and oversee the WAAMS portal and ADMS system.
- Create and distribute Cultural Awareness Training certificates to participants.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with all MAC members.
- Perform general reception duties, including answering phone calls and emails.
- Complete additional tasks as required by Senior Management.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role, preferably in an office environment.
- Strong initiative, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written, and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn database management software.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of Aboriginal culture or a genuine willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing independent tasks.
Desirable
- Experience in working with Aboriginal communities or in an environment, cultural heritage, or ranger services settings.
- Knowledge of Sharepoint, WAAMS, or ADMS systems.
