About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Accountant with a construction background to manage our financial records, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and provide accurate financial information to assist with decision-making. The ideal candidate experience in the construction industry, strong analytical skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting and company standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets, analyse financial performance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely tax filing and advise on tax-saving strategies and compliance.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
  • Input invoices and upload payments accurately into the accounting system.
  • Implement internal controls, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with financial procedures.

Qualifications & requirements:

  • Relevant degree OR qualification in finance OR accounting OR a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 year’s of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the construction or property development industry.
  • Proficient in Xero & Microsoft excel
  • CA/CPA qualified is desirable.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines
  • Positive mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
