The Senior Finance and Accounting Manager offers a pivotal role with the perfect balance of leadership and hands-on financial management. Operating from our client's office in Queensland, you will lead the corporate finance team, reporting directly to a US-based CFO, and overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis across multiple currencies. Role Responsibilities Include:

• To oversee and streamline general accounting functions for both the Australian and US businesses, including ledger management, reconciliations, payroll, fixed assets and inventory
• To lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations
• To provide insights into financial performance by analysing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow changes for management and audit reviews.
• To develop and manage department-specific reporting systems, supporting budgeting and performance communication across teams. Continuously identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency
• To manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, working with internal stakeholders to monitor and align performance against targets
• To collaborate with cross-functional teams (commercial, manufacturing, R&D, logistics) to analyse budget variations and recommend corrective actions

Skills you will need:
Essential:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• A minimum of 7 years of general accounting experience
• A minimum of 3 years of management experience
• Strong working knowledge of Australian GAAP and product cost accounting
• Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented, with a driven mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in multi-currency environments
• A strong team player
• An appreciation and understanding of the agricultural sector
• Highly proficient IT and advanced Excel skills

Desirable:

• CPA qualification
• US GAAP knowledge
• Experience with ERP systems (Xero, Cin-7, JOIIN)
