At our core, RSL LifeCare provides care and services to veterans and seniors who live in our communities or are receiving support at home.

Our vision of creating proud communities living their best lives is at the heart of everything we do as we continue to build upon our legacy of supporting veterans and their families for more than 100 years.

This is an opportunity for you to join a large social purpose organisation where your skills and compassion will be valued and enable you to make a meaningful difference to people's lives.

About the role:

We are seeking an individual to join our team based in our Queanbeyan Veteran and Family Hub in a newly created position, an Engagement & Community Officer. In this role, you will be an integral member of the team supporting current and former Defence personnel and their families.

This is a varied customer facing role, responsible for a range of initiatives including Event Management, Marketing & Social Media, Community Service liaison and being "the face" of the Hub. A true advocate for our client base, you will be genuinely invested in supporting current and former ADF personnel and have a kind and empathetic nature.

A bit about you:

  • Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Event Management, Social Media & Marketing, Community and/or Welfare Services
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to prioritise, manage and problem solve
  • Knowledge of or experience working with Australian Defence Force personnel
  • Cert IV in Community Services an advantage

To Apply:

  • Please include both a resume and cover letter addressing how you meet the requirements of the role (no more than two pages)
  • Applications close Friday 28th March, 2025
  • However, please note we will be moving candidates through the recruitment process

RSL LifeCare offers a range of benefits:

  • Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year. This allows you to reduce your taxable income by receiving part of your salary as tax-free benefits like super contributions, car leasing, and more
  • Staff discounts across 700 select retail stores through Maxxia Rewards
  • Leave Loading - 17.5% pay top up on paid leave
  • Working with a supportive, committed and loyal team

Our commitment to diversity:

We are proud to stand for our unique values: Do the Right Thing, Aim Higher, Care from the Heart, and Act as One team.

We welcome and encourage applications from people across our diverse community, especially from Veterans, current serving ADF personnel, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, valued and heard regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
