Join the dynamic Procurement Team at MACS and play a pivotal role in driving procurement excellence by continuously improving our systems, ensuring our contracts are awarded fairly to our suppliers, and that all agreement-related information is stored accurately.
YOUR ROLE
The Procurement Team provides expert direction, advice, and guidance to the organisation on best practice procurement strategies and management to ensure business objectives are achieved. The team will implement appropriate negotiation strategies with suppliers, developing and reviewing contracts to protect MACS interests from risks in the supply chain.
The Procurement and Contracts Officer will provide support to the Procurement Team, ensuring the effective application and maintenance of approved procurement policies and procedures. This includes aiding in the implementation of procurement projects and providing transition support whilst the team grows in scope and capacity.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Procurement and Contract Officer provides functional support to:
- Ensuring procurement guidelines and policies are followed.
- Assisting with procurement matters, evaluations, and the preparation of resulting agreements.
- Assisting in the preparation of business cases and obtaining approvals to release to market and prepare relevant tender documentation.
- Collaborating with project managers and operational staff, coordinating the approval process to formally engage service providers, exchange- terms and conditions, negotiate contracts as required, and ensure that the procurement activities are appropriately documented and recorded.
- Supporting our Category Managers with end-to-end procurement processes , including addressing queries from internal stakeholders, potential new suppliers, and schools.
- Working with the Procurement Analyst to amend and develop our key procurement systems as business needs grow.
- Providing a link to other directorates in working collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes.
- MACS operational staff to effectively implement and comply with MACS procurement policies and guidelines.
- Deliver business-as-usual contract administration activities.

ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes including Modern Slavery Act reporting, methodology, and probity requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in the administration of contracts, including understanding SLAs, milestone-based delivery, and associated reporting.
- Proven ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to acquire require information.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple concurrent tasks autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
- High level knowledge and skills in working with relevant software packages, especially within the Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel.

Salary range for this position is $90,000 - $98,000 per annum exclusive of superannuation and commensurate with skills and experience.
