We are seeking enthusiastic people with a passion for agriculture who would like to pass on their knowledge and skills to our students who are eager to learn. Our farming enterprises include broadacre cropping, sheep meat and wool production, pork production, cattle, butchery, and general farm maintenance. We are looking for people with interest in skills in one or more of these enterprise areas to fill any vacancies that may arise in the future.

The Role

Suitable applicants will provide on-the-job training to year 11 and 12 students, deliver and assess training in Certificates II & III in Agriculture and be responsible for Workplace Health and Safety requirements. We are looking for people who can work effectively in a team environment, and support the development of work-ready students.

Technical Officer - Agricultural Instruction will assist with the duties associated with the running of the College Farm and deliver agricultural training under supervision and assist in the assessment of student skills. To fulfil these requirements, the successful applicant will need a C-class driver’s license and be supported to gain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, as well as a HR license within 12 months of commencement (funded by the College).

Suitable applicants will assist with a range of general agricultural duties including cropping and livestock production systems. These duties typically involve assisting with the care of livestock, operating machinery and equipment, and maintaining the farm's resources and infrastructure.

In addition to the base salary (Level 1, 2, and 3) an additional 150 hrs of overtime per year is paid fortnightly. Overtime duties include rostered weekends and other duties as negotiated.

The pool may be utilised to fill vacancies, should successful applicants hold sufficient experience and satisfy the job requirements in the context of the role and associated duties.

Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.

The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.

Level 2, $73,954 - $79,292 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024)

Level 3, $83,114 - $89,226 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024)
