Due to their Financial Accountants retirement, a new opportunity has become available within this close-knit team. As their Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the Financial Operations of the company.

Duties:

• Financials: P & L, balance sheets, journals, BAS, cash flow and monthly board packs for the company and related entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Strategic support: FP & A, driving financial strategies to support the company’s goals and assisting in decision-making
• Foreign currency: High volume currency conversion of an import and distribution company
• Cash flow management: Payroll, manage AP, cash flow planning, assess inflow/ outflow, set timing of payments, collections, assess debtor reports, assess viability of new clients via debtor reports
• Internal controls and compliance: Maintain and create internal controls
• Commercial outlook: Help support the business decision-making process, via financial reports and analysis
• Reporting line: You will work independently within the Finance team, reporting to the Director/ Owner with no direct reports. This is a successful yet boutique business, where you will know everyone within the business
• Relationship management: Maintain relationships with banks, creditors, suppliers, customers and financial institutions. You will work alongside the external tax firm

Skills and personal attributes:

• 7-10+ years of experience in a similar role
• Must have high-volume foreign exchange experience
• Must be CA or CPA qualified or similar
• Commercially minded, competent, able to work independently and have business acumen
• Excellent communication, able to build relationships, based on trust with both the internal team, external clients and suppliers
• Ideally an understanding of an import, distribution and logistics company
• The use of MYOB AR Premium is an advantage, not essential
• This is a 100% office-based role
