About the Opportunities
- Full-Time position (35 hours/week)
- Contracted positions until at least 30 April 2024, with possibility of extension
- Operates on a roster of Tues – Sat or Sun – Thurs with two (2) consecutive days off on either the Sun & Mon or Fri & Sat each week (penalty rates paid additionally)
The objective of the role of the Case Worker is to deliver specialist support to clients in the domestic violence accommodation and support service, working in close collaboration with partner service The Women’s Cottage to create effective trauma-informed service delivery at Ngarrunga.

in 2023, Link Wentworth opened it’s first ever purpose-built pet friendly domestic violence accommodation and support service, Ngarrunga (Darug for ‘Calming Place’). Ngarrunga, based in the Hawkesbury, is a new service funded by the NSW Government’s Core & Cluster program available to women with or without children escaping family and/or domestic violence.
As a caseworker, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating services and support for women with or without children escaping family and/or domestic violence
In this role you can expect to be involved in things like:
- Client engagement including rapport-building, scoping of health, support, and housing needs
- Preparing client-led action plans to address support priorities and to support clients to identify suitable properties and secure and commence a tenancy
- Working in conjunction with other services to provide emotional, personal, and practical support to help people at risk of homelessness to stay safely housed
- Providing information, advocacy, referrals and coordination for individuals and families who require assistance to navigate access to a range of services to achieve case plan goals
- Increasing client capacity to live independently through development of independent living skills
- Leading and coordinating support interventions that are strengths based, trauma informed, recovery-focused and client-led
- Drawing on an ecological framework to support clients to strengthen their connections with family and community and to increase formal and informal supports, personal capacity, and resilience
- Developing, maintaining, and expanding partnership agreements and practice arrangements with community service providers that contribute to tenancy sustainability, personal health, and wellbeing and minimise the risk of further homelessness
- Meeting all data, accreditation, and reporting requirements
Essential Requirements
- Be female*
- Tertiary qualifications in human services and industry experience
- Experience in and understanding of case management including trauma informed practice
- Understanding of housing and support issues facing adults experiencing homelessness
- Demonstrated experience in delivering a responsive service to people with complex needs
- Understanding of the housing issues facing people experiencing domestic and family violence
You will also have:
- A commitment to Link Wentworth’s values of Customer Focus, Respect, Integrity, Compassion & Ambition
- A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth (or willingness to obtain one)
- At least two (2) Australian Government approved Covid-19 vaccinations
- A current driver’s license valid in the state of NSW
- A current NSW Working with Children’s Check
