The newly named BlendED by Saints College offers an inclusive and non-discriminating learning community to young people, who for a variety of reasons, make the choice to attend a specialised learning environment. Saint College operates across multiple campuses, located in Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. The young people who attend have typically experienced one or more significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal or familial situations which demand unique responses. Such interventions are embedded within the Operation By Principles framework, which combine education with an understanding of trauma-informed practice.
Join our Team as a Social Inclusion and Experiential Learning Instructional Leader!
The Social Inclusion and Experiential Learning Instructional Leader is responsible for facilitating the design, implementation, and overseeing programs that foster social inclusion, personal development, and teamwork among young people. This role requires outstanding leadership qualities to guide and empower staff, oversee all gatherings, facilitate experiential learning activities, and provide professional learning in risk and compliance.
Your focus:
- Supervise and mentor staff in the delivery of social inclusion and experiential learning programs.
- Coordinate structured professional development sessions, including training in risk management and compliance.
- Instruct staff in the facilitation and operations of all gatherings, ensuring consistency and alignment with school values.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of gatherings to maximise student engagement and inclusivity.
- Oversee the design and implementation of experiential learning programs that promote inclusion and personal growth.
- Oversee and coordinate logistics for outdoor and indoor activities, including transportation, equipment, and scheduling.
- Coordinate a variety of activities to encourage student participation and engagement.
- Ensure all activities are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and aligned with the school’s instructional goals.
- Actively promote wellbeing and social inclusion during all activities.
- Identify barriers to participation and work with the Program Director to implement inclusive practices.
- Facilitate the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of activity resources and equipment.
- Work closely with the Program Director and other staff to coordinate program delivery.
Your skills and talents:
- Be able and willing to uphold and role model the schools’ principles of operation of
Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal, and Honesty. - Applied understanding of experiential learning approaches and inclusive education practices.
- High level computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven initiative, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate
independently or within a team environment to lead and deliver on timelines.

The Role
This role is a full -time 1.0FTE ongoing position, working both within in the Melbourne Office, with travel to school sites.
You will be employed on an ongoing basis, commencing in March 2025, and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022. The salary will be Education Support Employee Level 3 $81,334 plus Responsibility allowance, plus superannuation and leave loading.
You will need:
- Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Youth work or Social work.
- Relevant experience in outdoor education, experiential learning, or social inclusion programs.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff in social inclusion and experiential learning.
- Experience in planning and delivering professional development, particularly in risk management and compliance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Victorian Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months).
