About the role
Castlemaine Hire Service is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Castlemaine, VIC. In this full-time or part time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.

What you'll be doing

• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on a range of diesel engines, transmissions, and associated components including small motors and tractors
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues using advanced tools and equipment
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with relevant regulations and safety protocols
• Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken and parts used
• Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with clients as needed

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the automotive or heavy equipment industry
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems, transmissions, and related components
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical issues efficiently and effectively
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
