We are currently recruiting on behalf of a very exciting health tech company for a contract Senior Java Applications Developer position. The perfect opportunity for an individual to gain high level experience with in a fast-paced company changing the landscape of their industry.

The opportunity:

Our client is looking for a full-stack Senior Java Software Engineer (Java & JavaScript). The ideal candidate relishes building scalable software, problem solving, mentoring and working with new technologies.

Key Technical Skills Required:

• Strong experience in JavaScript
• Proficiency in React.js and Node.js
• AWS Services expertise
• CloudFormation knowledge
• Strong DevOps background, particularly in Azure DevOps
• Advanced understanding of databases (Oracle, MySQL) and writing SQL queries
• Familiarity with SOAP and REST services
• Secure coding expertise
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices

Non-Mandatory but Beneficial Skills:

• Experience with Agile methodologies (can be trained if necessary)
• Previous experience in mentoring junior developers
• Peer reviews and paired programming experience

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Leading and mentoring junior developers within the team
• Conducting peer reviews and paired programming
• Working on AWS-based infrastructure
• Implementing and maintaining secure coding practices
• Engaging with database management and optimization
• Collaborating with other engineering teams and stakeholders
