Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connect individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole.

About the role:

Court Assessment & Prosecutions Officers are responsible for supporting the operation of the Court Assessment and Prosecutions Service and applying relevant work practices. This includes conducting initial assessments, variations or prosecution against an individual's court order.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely, high quality, evidence-based advice to stakeholders
  • Undertake an effective assessment of an individual's risk to community safety
  • Effectively manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • Produce detailed reports and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines

About you:

  • Experience or knowledge of court processes and prosecutions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide human services in needs assessments and development of interventions
  • Pays attention to words, expression and body language; Recognises behaviours that promote a culture of inclusion
  • Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines
