About the Role
The work is exciting, fast-paced, and varied. You will be a valued member of project teams that have a mix of internal and client team members, contractors, and specialist development partners. You’ll support and advise, both inside and outside of Exa. In a typical week, you may be contributing to proposal generation or project/systems planning, designing electronics, collaborating with colleagues through technical review and mentorship, and consulting clients.
You will have direct engagement with clients, exposure to full product lifecycle development, and close collaboration with other disciplines – giving you the tools, visibility, and input you need to get the job done. We have a culture of self-management, so, you’ll have a high degree of ownership, flexibility, and accountability in your role.

To be Successful in this Role You Will
- Value communication and collaboration with diverse internal and external teams
- Have 5+ years of professional experience designing electronics in Altium or similar
- Have the ability to lead requirements elicitation, implementation, and refinement
- Have experience developing architectures for embedded systems
- Have experience developing to ISO/IEC standards and testing and verification including EMC
- Have a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related discipline
The Following Skills are Favourable
- A specialisation in power electronics, battery systems, low power systems, or RF
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and digital embedded systems
- Experience working directly with clients, and across hybrid project teams

Where You’ll Be
- A mix of work at home and access to Exa's Abbotsford office and lab
- Standard working hours of 09.00 - 17.00 with flexible options e.g. 08:00 - 16:00
- Some travel in Australia as projects require
- Relocation support to Melbourne considered (from within ANZ)
