About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our Work Injuries Team in our Dandenong office on a full-time, permanent basis. We are also open to part-time (4 days per week). You will bring your strong organisational skills and customer service commitment to the role, as well as possess a high degree of initiative, a proven ability to handle pressure and conflicting priorities, strong organisational and time management skills, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
The role will involve:
- Documentation management tasks, producing accurate file notes, filing and monitoring for further action
- Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested
- Build strong relationships with clients, including assisting with enquiries and proactively seeking information where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge, supporting and contributing constructively
- Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate
- Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations
- Manage the administration of all client files from open to close
The experience we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant preferred but not essential
- The ability to think strategically in order to forward plan and monitor future priorities
- Proven success in developing strategies and plans to manage email accounts and calendars
- A high competency in Microsoft Office and in particular a willingness to develop advanced skills in MS Excel and MS teams
- Well-developed communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal) and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently to plan, coordinate and organise projects
- Outstanding customer service attributes that include a professional image, customer service focus, active listening skills and sound negotiation skills
- The ability to handle and uphold confidential matters with maturity and common sense
- A record of or enthusiasm for working independently to deliver on shared goals
