About the School of Science
The School of Science is a large and comprehensive school with learning, teaching and research excellence encompassing a wide range of biological, chemical, environmental, food, forensic, medical, nutritional and physical sciences, including agriculture and astronomy.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Teach: Develop, design, and deliver innovative and engaging teaching materials for tutorials, demonstrations, and workshops. Bring your subject matter to life with creative, student-focused teaching approaches.
  • Research: Build a meaningful research portfolio and share your insights through impactful publications and presentations. Your scholarly work will contribute to advancements in your field.

    To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate excellence in teaching and a high level of energy and commitment to further developing a research profile that is fresh and relevant to the particular discipline.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Western’s Hawkesbury, Parramatta South or Campbeltown Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must provide evidence that you:

  • are an Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander person; and
  • hold a Masters degree or demonstrated substantial completion towards completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant area aligned with the teaching and research programs of the School of Science; and
  • have not previously held an ongoing position with an Australian Higher Education provider in the previous 3 years.

Candidates must submit evidence of the above requirements and any evidence of their teaching performance, such as Student Feedback on Teaching survey outcomes, at the time of application.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level A $112,718 to $136,180 p.a. (comprising Salary of $95,248 to $115,074 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
