About the Project

The Swifts Creek Future Project is part of the Forestry Transition Program, designed to support communities as their economies transition and seek to foster new industries. The Local Development Strategy works with the whole community to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and a sustainable future for the region.
About the Role
As the Swifts Creek Future Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in implementing the Local Development Strategy, working alongside the community to drive innovation, investment, and sustainable growth.
This role is perfect for a proactive leader with a passion for the town. You'll collaborate with local stakeholders, businesses, and government agencies to explore new opportunities and strengthen the region’s economy.
What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the implementation of the Swifts Creek Local Development Strategy
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics
  • Build strong partnerships with the community and other relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate research, economic analysis, and business case development
  • Oversee events, engagement plans, and community outreach initiatives

This role offers a chance to truly make a difference for the Swifts Creek community.
There is flexibility in the duration and EFT through negotiation.

  • Flexibility of 0.5 EFT to 1 EFT
  • Maximum tenure ending December 2026, to be negotiated depending on EFT.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in project management, economic development or regional renewal
  • Ability to analyse data and develop strategic proposals
  • A track record of delivering collaborative projects with government, business and regional communities
  • Degree or diploma in business, economics or other relevant degree with extensive and diverse relevant experience and/or post graduate qualifications.

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check, have an employee Working with Children Check and complete psychometric testing. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
