Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.
About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor who will provide support to the project team to ensure that all aspects of site HSEQ management systems, procedures and programs are implemented for the business to meet its legal obligations, client requirements and overall goal for safety, sustainability, environment, quality, risk, and governance excellence. Reporting to the WA HSEQ manager, this site-based role will see you as the HSEQ champion for Guidera O’Connor confirming that “Work As Planned IS Work As Done” in line with our HSEQ policies and procedures.
More specifically you will:
- Maintain a positive culture of Health, Safety Environment, Wellbeing and Quality throughout the business
- Drive a culture of continual improvements and excellence in HSEQ
- Guide and support the site team in all required aspects of HSEQ during construction and delivery of projects
- Support the maintenance of the accreditation to relevant management systems
- Maintain a safe workplace for workers
- Maintain close working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure good HSEQ outcomes
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Relevant experience and certification in HSEQ within the construction industry
- Experience in using HSEQ software and reporting systems
- Experience as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator
- Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
- An ability to effectively lead and influence teams of people through negotiation and conflict resolution
- Be self-driven and an excellent problem solver

- First Aid Qualified
- Electrical test and tag qualification (preferred)
- Workplace Drug and Alcohol Tester qualification (preferred)
- ICAM Lead investigator (preferred)
