As a Classroom Educator at CAMP For Kids & Adults, you will be responsible for leading a classroom of 10 adult students with disabilities, supported by a team of 4-5 support staff. Your role is to create and deliver individualised learning programs that enhance students' life skills, communication and independence. You will implement structured lessons, manage classroom dynamics and work closely with support staff to ensure that each student receives the guidance and care they need.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about special education and dedicated to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will receive mentorship and professional development opportunities to build your expertise in classroom management, curriculum adaptation and student engagement while working within a collaborative team.

8:00am - 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the Classroom and Managing Staff
- Oversee a class of 10 adult students with disabilities, supported by a team of 4-5 support staff.
- Coordinate and guide support staff to ensure all students receive individualised support.
- Foster a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where students can thrive.
2. Planning and Delivering Instruction
- Develop and implement individualised learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Use inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to enhance student engagement and academic progress.
- Align lesson plans with CAMP For Kids & Adults’ curriculum framework, ensuring consistency with school-wide priorities.
3. Ensuring Student Safety and Well-being
- Create and maintain a child-safe environment in line with CAMP For Kids & Adults’ policies.
- Implement strategies that promote students' physical and emotional well-being, fostering a secure and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
4. Curriculum Delivery and Assessment
- Deliver core subjects while adapting instructional methods to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Participate in school-wide curriculum planning, assessment strategies and pedagogical improvements.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching approaches based on assessment data and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
5. Tracking Student Progress and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behaviour.
- Regularly assess students and provide feedback to families and leadership.
- Utilise student progress data to inform teaching strategies and support learning objectives.
6. Classroom Management
- Establish a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and self-regulation.
- Set clear behavioural and learning expectations, helping students develop social-emotional skills.
- Implement evidence-based classroom management techniques in alignment with school policies.
7. Professional Development and Mentorship
- Work with a mentor during the first year to engage in structured professional development.
- Participate in induction programs and ongoing professional learning activities.
