Salary: $80,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
Reporting to: Principal Speech Pathologist

About the role
Stellar Speech & OT provides mobile allied health services to NDIS participants. Our speech pathologists work on mutual communication and mealtime goals alongside people with permanent and significant disability. We are looking for an early career speech pathologist who has a passion for learning, is great with people, and wants to work in an area that allows them to apply their personal strengths to clinical practice.
You will work with diverse populations in this role, completing assessments and planning and delivering interventions for both children and adults. The referrals we receive include people with complex communication and swallowing needs on the background of neurological, physical, intellectual and genetic disability.
Please note: We don’t have an office! Even though we are out and about most days, you will have access to co-working facilities to collaborate and work together with your team
How we will support you
- Weekly one-on-one clinical supervision with a senior speech pathologist.
- Regular joint visits where you get to learn from us, and we get to support you with your caseload.
- Low KPIs, giving you time for individual research and independent learning during your week.
- Access to evidence briefs through individual The Informed SLP membership.
- Access to journal articles.
- Active investment in your ongoing professional development with an individually curated professional development package of $8,000 and 8 days for study in the first year of employment.
How we will pay you:
- This position comes with a base salary of $80,000 per year.
- Superannuation will be paid on your base salary in line with super guarantee
- You will receive a reimbursement for using your own vehicle for travel to community visits, according to the tax office reimbursement rates (for the financial year 2024-2025, this is 88 cents per kilometre).
- We will pay for your SPA and AGOSCI memberships for as long as you are an employee with us.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Speech Pathology
- Provisional Certified Practising Membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
- Current Working with Children Check (renewed every 3 years)
- National Police Clearance (renewed every 5 years)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Drivers licence and access to own vehicle for work use
Essential soft skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in the community
- A passion for and understanding of person-centred, evidence-based practice
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with clients with complex needs
- Placement experience working within the NDIS
