About the Role
You will be primarily focused on the planning and delivery of simulation teaching and learning activities and associated administrative duties within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate/postgraduate Nursing and Midwifery programs, particularly those related to Horizon Hospital and Health Service (HHHS) nursing program. Under appropriate guidance, you will deliver contemporary, authentic clinical teaching and learning activities and experiences within the simulated HHHS environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of clinical case studies, situational and simulation learning activities, workshops and clinically based assessments
- Contribute to clinical teaching as part of the HHHS clinical teaching team
- Contribute to the design and development of course materials including online resources
- Act as a student advisor
- Administrative operation of the course
- Coordinate and lead clinical workshops
Essential Skills and Experience
- A Master’s degree qualification in a relevant health discipline and current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Relevant and recent clinical experience in the discipline of nursing or midwifery, commensurate with the level
- Ability to undertake a range of clinical and teaching duties including contributing to the preparation of appropriate clinical teaching materials and resources
- Ability to deliver clinical teaching and learning experiences that demonstrate inclusivity, diversity, and cultural sensitivity
- High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, students, and colleagues

The Horizon Hospital and Health Service (HHHS) sits within the Clinical and Health Sciences Unit. It is comprised of contemporary simulated health environments (on campus) that support the translation of students’ theoretical knowledge into clinical practice. The HHHS forms part of the Clinical Health Science Unit’s commitment that the degrees are designed and delivered to meet the ever-evolving needs of industry, ensuring graduates are career ready and equipped with the skills to meet future demands.
