We are looking for dynamic, flexible, values-based based quick thinkers to join our team as a Disability Mentor – Community Support Worker.

This role is about supporting people with intellectual disabilities within small groups to build and demonstrate a range of skills that will support them to live their best life.

What does a day in the life of a Disability Mentor- Community Support Worker look like?

As a mentor, you will engage small groups of participants to provide ongoing opportunities for skill development, social interactions, and community-based activities. Your role will include skill-based teaching, mentoring, feedback, and collaboration. Your role is to provide empowering activities that guide people to develop skills and focus on their goals. You will need to think on your feet, and you will need to respond to the needs of your group by employing a range of knowledge and skills. The role is built on supporting people to achieve their goals and is very focused on increasing the skills that the individual requires.

• A desire to support people to build their community-based networks.
• Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities in skill development.
