We are currently seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers with experience in Autism Level 1-3 care to provide personalised support for a young adolescent NDIS participant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with personal care, community access, and capacity building to enhance the client's daily living skills.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
Supporting a 10-year-old participant with Autism Level 3 in their daily routines.
Providing personal care (assistance with hygiene, dressing, and toileting) in a respectful and sensitive manner.
Facilitating community access by accompanying the client to social activities, therapy appointments, and recreational outings.
Implementing capacity-building strategies to support skill development in communication, daily living, and social interactions.
Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
Maintaining clear and detailed documentation of progress, incidents, and support provided.
Collaborating with the participant’s family, allied health professionals, and support team to ensure holistic care.

Essential Criteria
Minimum 6 months experience working with individuals with Autism Level 1-3.
Experience in personal care, community access, and behaviour support.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
Working with Children Check (WWCC) (Employee status required).
National Police Check (within the last 12 months).
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (with comprehensive insurance).
Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
Cert III or IV in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field.
Experience with alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, AAC devices).
Multilingual skills (highly regarded).
Manual handling training.
