Heidelberg Materials Australia is one of Australia's leading suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates, including crushed rock, sand, gravel and road base from a number of locations across Australia.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Launceston quarry team as a Leading Hand. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role will be a multi-faceted position, responsible for supervising quarry operations with a focus on production enhancement and improvement, therefore, the ideal candidate will preferably have mobile and fixed plant experience, with a background in mining, mineral sands, crushing hard rock or any floatation process highly regarded. Front End Loader experience and the ability to use Loadrite will be highly advantageous.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday with average rostered hours being 6am - 4pm as well as rostered Saturday shifts, 6am - 12pm midday.

In your new role with us, you will:

Supervising the day-to-day production operations and making decisions that impact the overall performance of the business

Managing people while bringing your team along the journey to successfully achieve goals

Bringing a strong safety mindset and manage high risk activities and reduce risk exposure for self and others

Carry out day to day operation and maintenance of various vehicles, plant, and equipment

Perform general labour activities
