ASN Events is a well-respected Association Management and Professional Conference Organising (PCO) company with a strong history of delivering successful conferences and managing associations in Australia and internationally. We partner with associations and societies to provide comprehensive management solutions, ensuring growth, engagement, and long-term success.
ASN Events is committed to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, and we are seeking an experienced Association Manager to assist with the expansion of our Association Management department. This role will not only provide outstanding service to our existing clients but will also actively seek opportunities to enhance their engagement, financial sustainability, and strategic direction.
This role is suited to a proactive and strategic professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, is highly motivated, and can take ownership of client engagement. We are looking for someone who does more than just execute tasks—they will drive engagement, optimise processes, and proactively guide associations towards achieving their strategic goals.
The successful candidate should also have an interest in business development, as they will play a role in expanding ASN Events’ portfolio of association clients.

Standard Business (flexible working arrangements) with occasional interstate, and possible international travel. Occasional evening/weekend availability for board meetings or conferences
Key Responsibilities
Association Management & Client Engagement
- Act as the key point of contact for assigned associations, building strong, trusted relationships with Boards and Committees.
- Provide governance support, including scheduling meetings, preparing board papers, recording minutes, and managing AGMs.
- Maintain and enhance membership engagement strategies to improve retention and attract new members.
- Oversee administration tasks such as member communications, database management, financial reporting, and policy implementation.
- Facilitate strategic planning discussions with associations to identify areas for growth and development.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Monitor and manage association budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
- Work closely with ASN Events’ finance team to track revenues, process invoices, and provide financial summaries to clients.
- Identify and develop revenue-generating opportunities, including sponsorship, grants, and membership growth initiatives.
Proactivity & Innovation in Client Management
- Take initiative to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and value-added services for association clients.
- Regularly review association operations and recommend innovations in governance, membership engagement, and event strategy.
- Develop tailored solutions for each association, recognising unique goals and challenges.
Business Development (Preferred but Not Essential)
- Identify and pursue opportunities to onboard new association clients.
- Support the Managing Director and Business & Partnership Manager in developing proposals and pitching ASN Events' services to potential clients.
- Contribute to marketing and outreach strategies to showcase ASN Events’ association management capabilities.
Marketing & Communications
- Oversee digital communication channels, including websites, newsletters, and social media, ensuring timely and relevant updates.
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to boost membership engagement and event participation.
- Create compelling content that positions associations as leaders in their respective fields.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong client management skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- High level of organisational and time-management skills with an ability to manage multiple associations simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with experience in association governance, membership engagement, and financial oversight.
- Experience with CRM systems, digital communication platforms, and financial management tools.
- Proficient in Office 365 suite
- “Membes” Association management Software and/or Currinda membership management software experience is an advantage
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Business development experience (highly desirable but not essential).

- Client Satisfaction: Measured through feedback from Boards/Committees and member engagement levels.
- Membership Growth & Retention: Year-on-year improvement in membership numbers and engagement.
- Financial Performance: Ability to manage association budgets effectively and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Operational Efficiency: Improvement in association processes and governance best practices.
- Business Development Contribution: Support in securing new association clients
