Location: Canberra preferred. However, candidates from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, & Adelaide are welcome to apply.
Security Clearance: Baseline Security Clearance, minimum
Contract: 12-month Non-Ongoing Contract with a view to Perm. s26 transfers are also welcome.
Your new company. Join a leading federal government agency dedicated to delivering high-quality procurement and contract management services. Our client provides in-house support to assist business areas in achieving their outcomes under an Account Management Model, ensuring that procurement activity aligns with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and minimises procurement risks.
Your new role. We are seeking a skilled APS5 Procurement Officer to join this dynamic team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, practical, and timely procurement advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and relevant legislation. You will also review procurement documentation, contribute to the development and implementation of procurement systems and strategies, and provide advice on contract management activities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide procurement advice and guidance in line with departmental policies, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and relevant legislation.
- Ensure Value for Money in all procurement activities.
- Review procurement documentation, including Spending Proposals, Procurement Plans, Approach to Market documentation, Delegate approvals, contracts, and risk assessments.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement systems, strategies, and policies.
- Provide advice on contract management activities and submit Requests for Quote on AusTender on behalf of business areas.
Preferred Prerequisites
- Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting).
- Knowledge of the Resource Management Framework, including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Procurement experience.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial/contract reporting, analysis, and evaluation.
- Solution-focused with a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes.
- High-level communication, writing, engagement, and stakeholder management skills.
