About the Role
Due to a recent restructure, we are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Disability Services, our Operations Manager (Residential) provides leadership to and manages the day-to-day operations of our Launceston-based Residential team. In addition, the role develops and promotes our service offerings, identifying opportunities for program expansion and welcoming new families to St Michael's.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity to work for a values-based organisation where you will demonstrate your leadership skills, experience in the disability sector together with an opportunity to focus on building a team-based culture providing active support. Immediate start available.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provision of exceptional leadership and mentoring to a team of Team Coordinators and Disability Support Workers.
- Ensure employees are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of contemporary disability support services.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of services including staff ratios, budgets, compliance and reporting.
- Facilitate and manage positive relationships with families.
- Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with St Michaels' values.
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of annual objectives for Program Services
About You:

You will be able to clearly demonstrate the following:
- Provision of effective leadership with the ability and passion to foster a positive workplace culture where staff feel engaged, empowered, supported and encouraged to offer exceptional support and maintain high performance.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with working with people with disability within the NDIS framework.
- Ability to understand and coordinate roster development and implementation.
- Proven experience working in accordance with NDIS practice standards, and management and reporting on the use of restrictive practices and serious incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Willingness to participate in a fortnightly on-call roster.
A Diploma qualification in Human Services or a related field will be highly regarded.
Successful candidates will be required to clear background checks including National Police and pre-employment medical checks, a NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Vulnerable Check.
