About the role
- Join our dynamic workforce utilising innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions.
- Providing outreach assertive case management support to people in the community
- Professionally support people requestion assistance with alcohol and drug use.
- We employ trauma informed practice and a respectful, person-centred approach.
- Demonstrated understanding of the health and social issues affecting people who use drugs
- Understanding of harm reduction-based approaches in working with substance use.
About you
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary teams in a high demand environment with competing priorities with sound liaison, negotiation and time management.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of legislative requirements for domestic violence, child protection, guardianship and victims of crime.
- Demonstrated high level clinical skills, knowledge and/or experience in bio-psychosocial assessment, counselling, therapy interventions, case management, advocacy and discharge planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision

In this role you will be based at St Vincent's hospital, Darlinghurst.

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
2.Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent tertiary qualification with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with relevant health experience
3.High level skills and experience in social work models of practice, experience working with vulnerable clients with complex health and psycho-social needs in a community setting.
4.Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction, motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches in working with people who have alcohol and substance use dependence.
5.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands with minimal direct supervision, and high-level engagement and performance in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
6.Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development including providing clinical supervision and ability to lead quality improvement and service development projects.
7.Demonstrated highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
8.Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
