About the Role:
We are excited to introduce a new and impactful role— the Research and Consumer Engagement Manager for our Impactful Arthritis Research Program. This is a hybrid role with flexibility around hours. Ideally 18 hours over 4 days with a minimum of 1 day a week in the office
The Research and Consumer Engagement Manager will be integral in supporting the involvement of consumers in arthritis research and will directly contribute to the success of the National Research Program and our research partnerships.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing our register of consumers who are interested in participating in arthritis and musculoskeletal research. You will ensure that consumers are appropriately vetted, trained, and matched with research projects that benefit from their insights. Your experience will guide the embedding of best practices in consumer involvement into the research landscape.
In addition to consumer engagement, you will be responsible for managing partnership requests, coordinating letters of support for researchers, and identifying new funding opportunities for Arthritis Australia’s initiatives. You would also have the opportunity to support grant application writing and contribute to the overall success of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the consumer research champions database and matching program.
- Working with key staff to integrate consumer involvement into the National Research Program.
- Oversee partnered or funded research activities
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration.
- Implement the evaluation framework for the program.
- Identify and pursue partnership and funding opportunities.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience managing research or healthcare programs, with a focus on consumer involvement.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines, budgets, and milestones.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of partnership development, funding , evaluation and grant application processes.
- Experience in NFP or Universities ideal, but passion for meaningful work improving the lives of people with health issues is key!
