About You

About the role
As a Youth Worker, you will deliver a variety of services to young people to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives in the community. Your working day may include (but not be limited to), assistance and or support with daily life, including personal care, domestic activities, social and community participation and varying skill development activities.
Skills & experience:
- Ability to build rapport with young people
- Creating a safe home environment while assisting young people to learn life skills such as cooking healthy meals and making good life choices
- Ability to encourage and teach improved health and hygiene
- Ability to work with youth who display complex behaviours
- Willingness to work with young people and those living with a disability or mental illness
- Availability to cover a range of shifts including sleepovers and weekends is required
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will be providing young people with the tools to create positive outcomes and help them navigate through their emotions and challenges.
What you need:
- Minimum Certificate 4 in a recognised area - must be working towards or be willing to enrol
- Drivers Licence
- Ability to do sleepovers and shift work - this is an essential requirement.
- Police clearance - not less than 12 months old
- Blue Card (Current - no card no start policy applies)
- NDIS Workers Screening Check/Yellow Card (Current - no card no start policy applies)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate:
- Completed Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training - this will be supplied by Wellways if needed.
- Current First Aid
