Role Purpose

The Microfinance Policy Analyst role is focused on advancing financial wellbeing through innovative, collaborative approaches, with a primary focus on the No Interest Loans (NILs) Program. Reporting directly to the Microfinance Manager, the Analyst will focus on microfinance credit policy and capital management.

This position provides a unique opportunity to influence the future of microfinance in Australia while contributing to meaningful change through a leading organization dedicated to financial wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimise loan portfolio performance to drive better customer outcomes and financial resilience.
  • Strengthen expertise in financial inclusion to shape strategic decisions and policy impact.
  • Support a national network of loan providers by promoting best practices and innovation.
  • Enhance capacity-building initiatives to improve service delivery and provider effectiveness.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Policy, Development, or a related field.
  • Lending and policy management knowledge within the financial and credit industries and community services system in either sustainable/microfinance, risk and compliance, policy development or process improvement
  • Well-developed consultation and collaboration skills and be able to work in complex work environments
