The Role

As one of Australia's leading suppliers of construction and building materials, we have experienced substantial growth which is expected to continue. We are looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Administrator with great interpersonal skills to join the HR team to provide administrative support and coordination across a varied range of tasks.

Based in Yennora and reporting to the Department of Human Resources, you will be responsible in all transactional administrative aspects of the HR function including recruitment, employee relations, staff development and training. In addition, manages office adminstrative tasks such as coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, and overseeing office supplies and facilities.

Key responsibilities

1)Recruitment

  • Liaise with stakeholders to determine talent requirements and vacancies
  • Partnering with Hiring Managers to craft detailed job advertisements, job briefs and candidate specifications
  • Continue to develop strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruitment process for Hume
  • Maintain and improve Hume's online careers page and the Recruitment Portal
  • Creating targeted advertising and launching the ad across various online platforms
  • Performing candidate screening and interviews
  • Coordinate or manage the contract offer, commencement dates plus induction / training of new employees with trainers

2)Work Health & Safety

  • Ensure WHS policy is understood and adhered to at all times
  • Appropriate PPE is adhered to at all times
  • Report all injuries, illnesses and near misses to your Supervisor/Manager
  • Safety is everyone’s responsibility
  • Ensure that working conditions of all employees are satisfactory, with particular reference to health and safety

3)Staff Development & Training

  • Work with internal stakeholders in all areas of the employee lifecycle
  • Assist with the implementation of the HR business plan
  • Monitor, manage and maintain the performance and learning modules in collaboration with relevant Hume employees
  • Participate in planning and roll out all employee relations activities and initiatives

4)HR Administration and Generl Responsibilities

  • All uniform standards must be adhered to at all times
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc administrative tasks, with a focus on timeliness and accuracy
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as set out in the Hume Employee Handbook, portal or through other communication channels
  • Behave in line with our values with all internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers
  • Other relevant tasks and responsibilities assigned by Supervisors or Management team, including all company-wide ad-hoc projects, activities, and other work-related programs

To be successful in this role you will need

  • Relevant education/ qualification in HR
  • 5 - 8 year previous experience in the same or similar role
  • HR Reporting, HRIS and Payroll experience desirable
  • Knowledge of WHS and Return-To-Work program
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask and maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and use initiative
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Multilingual advantageous

Working Hours

Weekdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm
